Probably a pub.
We'll be around Wicklow and will likely arrange something very informal for anyone who's already nearby. Think a drink and a catch-up, not a pre-wedding event. Nothing is nailed down and nobody is expected to be there.
7th August 2027
Trudder Lodge Co. Wicklow
Today's the day.
Formal invitation to follow in early 2027
It's Happening!
And you're invited! The wedding is Saturday August 7th 2027 in Wicklow, Ireland. We are also planning a (low-key, optional) Day 2 on Sunday to bid farewell to everyone before they head away. More info to come in early 2027.
For now, if you know you're coming, the useful thing to do is book accommodation and travel. Everything else can wait. Bryan has been in contact with local hotels in the area and has reserved some rooms at a discounted rate. More info below.
What's happening?
Trudder Lodge is a gorgeous nineteenth centuary Georgian Lodge just outside Newtown Mount Kennedy in Co. Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland. A perfect excuse for those of you who "have been meaning to visit Ireland at some point" to finally come and visit!
Our wedding will be on the Saturday, however we expect plenty of people will want to make a weekend of it so we will be doing some stuff on Friday and Sunday also for those who want to join! Here is a rough itenerary
We'll be around Wicklow and will likely arrange something very informal for anyone who's already nearby. Think a drink and a catch-up, not a pre-wedding event. Nothing is nailed down and nobody is expected to be there.
The ceremony will begin in the early afternoon at Trudder Lodge, followed by a drinks reception, dinner and a party that will run until well past Bryan's bedtime!
We're planning something casual at or around Trudder for anyone who's still around and fancies reliving the night before heading home (hopefully a sports day if Jenny gets her way ;) ). This isn't a second formal wedding event, and there's no need to make plans around it yet.
Where to stay
There is no accommodation at Trudder Lodge, so we've arranged rooms at a few places nearby. Each one is first come, first served and has its own release date, after which the rooms go back on general sale (we have not paid any deposits for these). You're very welcome of course to not use any of these suggestions and to book somewhere else entirely. We have some suggestions for that below.
Don't worry about how far your hotel is from Trudder. We'll be helping to arrange transport back after the wedding, so you'll get home safely wherever you're staying. The details will come with the invitation. All times listed below are driving times.
If you do end up booking one of the options below, it would be very useful if you could let us know! This will help us with organising logistics to and from the venue. We will be checking in periodically with the venues to check what has been taken so we can update the website accordingly.

This one is a little different! K2 is an Alpaca Farm Experience with seven cosy self-catering cottages on the premises. We have booked out all seven cottages for the weekend, with four of them still available. Perfect for groups who'd rather have a place to themselves than a hotel room.
Booking elsewhere?
The list above is not exhaustive of what is in the area, they're only the ones we have spoken to. There are other hotels, and plenty of whole houses and apartments around the area which often suit families or a few couples travelling together better than hotel rooms do. We've ran a search for entire homes over the Friday to Sunday of the wedding weekend On AirBnB, which you can click the link below to access. We've not stayed in, visited, or vetted any of these, so treat it as a starting point rather than a recommendation.
As a general rule, look between Bray (north) and Wicklow Town (south), staying reasonably close to the coast and the N11. Most of us will be based around Newtownmountkennedy. Wedding transport will cover accommodation between Bray and Wicklow Town, so staying anywhere along that stretch (Bray, Greystones, Delgany, Kilcoole or Newtownmountkennedy) will be straightforward. Exact routes and timings will come with the invitation.
How will I get there?
The venue is tucked into the countryside, surrounded by fields and not something we'd recommend walking to. A car is convenient, but you can absolutely do the weekend without one!
Dublin Airport is the closest airport. We recommend arriving Friday if you can. A Saturday-morning flight is possible, but gives you less room for delays. If you're flying home Sunday, later is better if you want the option of Day 2.
Having access to a car is probably the simplest option for the wider weekend. Dublin Airport is roughly an hour by car depending on traffic. Shannon Airport is also possible if you're combining the wedding with time in the west.
Public transport can get you south towards Bray or Greystones, then use a taxi for the last leg to your accommodation. Routes can change before 2027, so we'll publish the best current option closer to the wedding.
For those driving from home, Trudder Lodge is ~3hrs from Shannon and ~2hrs from Ballinasloe by car.
What do I need to know?
Saturday is fully hosted
Reception food, a full three-course dinner and late-night food are planned, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The standard meal choice will be meat or vegetarian; vegan and dietary requirements will be handled separately.
Serious allergies
We'll gather normal dietary requirements later. If you have a serious allergy or significant dietary issue, WhatsApp Bryan now so we can plan properly with the caterers. Please do this even if we have known you for years and should already know this about you.
Parking
Parking at Trudder Lodge is free. You can leave your car overnight if you're drinking and collect it on Sunday. Exact arrival and parking instructions will come with the invitation.
Transport
We're working with local taxi providers and considering shared transport. Exact routes, timing and pricing will come with the formal invitation.
Dress-code teaser
The full brief will come with the invitation. Please don't buy a new outfit just for us. Suits, ties, dresses, jumpsuits, hats and kilts all work. Wear the most colourful formal thing you already own.
One advance warning: if your dress could reasonably be described to a photographer as “white”, maybe leave that one to Jenny.
The ceremony
We're planning an outdoor ceremony beneath a canopy of mature trees. You'll spend a fair amount of time outside if the weather is kind. There is a proper indoor contingency if the Irish summer decides to make a point.
What's still coming?
If it's labelled "with invitation", it simply hasn't been sent yet.
FAQs
If you have been sent a save-the-date or a save-the-date has been addressed to you, then you're invited! Only named guests are included.
No open plus-ones. The people named on your save-the-date are the people invited. If you're genuinely unsure, ask Bryan.
Yes. Unless a child is specifically named on the save-the-date or invitation, they are not included. We know that can mean arranging childcare well in advance, which is one reason we're making it clear now.
No. Saturday is the wedding. Friday and Sunday are entirely optional! You're perfectly welcome to arrive Saturday and leave after the wedding.
The ceremony will begin in the early afternoon. Your exact arrival time and the proper running order will come with the formal invitation.
No. There is no guest accommodation available to book at Trudder for our wedding. We suggest you use one of the accommodation blocks above or book somewhere between Bray and Wicklow Town.
Yes, if you're confident you're coming. Accommodation around the area is limited and our reserved rooms are first come, first served.
If you've found a sensible flight and you're confident you're coming, there's no reason to wait. We'd recommend arriving Friday rather than relying on a Saturday-morning flight where possible.
No, but it may make the wider weekend easier for you. If you don't want one, we recommend using public transport towards Bray or Greystones and taxis for the final leg. We will also send a proper wedding-day transport plan later.
If you have reduced mobility, accessibility requirements or anything that could make attendance complicated, please don't let that deter you from coming. We'll work directly with you and with Trudder to make the day workable. Contact Bryan now if accessibility affects whether you can attend; otherwise we'll gather more detail later.
Whether you're sitting, standing or lying down, we intend to get you dancing!
Then we'll have an Irish wedding. The plan is an outdoor ceremony beneath the trees, but there is a proper indoor wet-weather option.
No pets, please. If you travel with a recognised assistance or service animal, contact Bryan and we'll work through the arrangements.
Nothing to think about yet. Any information about gifts will come with the formal invitation.
Not yet. Formal invitations will arrive in early 2027 and the anticipated RSVP deadline will be around the end of May 2027. However, if you know for definite one way or the other, we would appreciate if you could tell us now :)
Still got a question?
Please don't ask Jenny about logistics. Bryan is project manager. Jenny is creative director.
